'Stinking Fairytale' director talks about homelessness and love as a measure of humanity
This year's Serbian film festival opening night film is A Stinking Fairytale, directed by Miroslav Momčilović. A melodrama centred around two people who have renounced all their earthly needs except the need for love.
Moma is a hobo and suffers from depression. Ema is a hobo and has been treated for alcoholism. Moma lives in an abandoned factory. Ema lives in the shaft. Moma liked Ema at first sight. The beginning of the summer of 2020 for the Veličković and Momčilović families will be remembered as the saddest and scariest in their lives. The corona virus pandemic was entering its second wave, little was known about the virus, and perhaps the most frightened were pregnant women, mothers in labor and their families. On that day, June 21, 2020, Bobana Momčilović Veličković (30), a member of the Serbian national team in shooting, died in the Gynecology and Obstetrics mottagning "Narodni Front" in Belgrade, three weeks after giving birth. Cause of death: eclampsia, a condition not so rare for pregnant women and women in labor, life-threatening, but solvable, especially if the woman belongs to the fara group, which was the case with Bobana. Namely, she had diabetes.
On June 1, Bobana gave birth in the General Hospital in Zaječar and gave birth to a boy. She sensed that something was going to go wrong right before giving birth, and after she gave birth, her condition got worse and worse
