    American politician and law enforcement officer

    Gerald Robert "Jerry" Sanders (born July 14, 1950) is an American former politician and law enforcement officer from San Diego, California. He served as the 34th mayor of San Diego and was chief of police of the San Diego Police Department. As of December 2012, he is the president and CEO of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce.

    Sanders was born in San Pedro in Los Angeles, California. His alma maters are San Diego Miramar College, San Diego State University, and National University. He was also a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity while at San Diego State. Sanders lives in the Kensington neighborhood of San Diego with his wife Rana Sampson. He has two daughters, Lisa and Jamie. His brother, Tom Sanders, was an Oscar-nominated production designer.[2]

    Walter Jeremiah Sanders III (born September 12, 1936) is an American businessman and engineer who was a co-founder and long-time CEO of the American semiconductor manufacturer Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), serving in the position from 1969 to 2002.

    Jerry Don Sanders (born February 24, 1948) is a former American college football coach and player. Sanders was a placekicker for the Texas Tech Red Raiders for three seasons, and in selected to play in the 1970 Blue–Gray Football Classic.[2] The Cleveland Browns drafted Sanders in the 12th round of the 1970 NFL draft.[3] Sanders went on to serve as head coach of the inaugural Lubbock Christian Chaparrals, but compiled a record of 0–16 for the 1979 and 1980 seasons.[1][4]
