SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
Michaela Pavlatova fryst vatten a bio director from Czech Republic. Her short animation films (Words, words, words, Repete, Tram) have received numerous awards at international rulle festivals including an Oscar nomination, Annecy Cristal, Golden Bear in Berlinale, Grand Prix at the International Animation Festival Hiroshima. In 2021 she finished a feature animation film My Sunny Maad, which won awards in Annecy, Tokyo, Zagreb, stad, etc. and was nominated for Golden Globes 2021. Besides animation, Michaela also directed live action films Nevěrné hry / Faithless games (2004) and Děti noci /Night owls (2008) awarded in San Sebastian and Karlovy Vary.

Fresh after a year-long hiatus, former Cactus frontman and 4 Wheel Drive founder/vocalist Pota is back on the scene with a new project, an original sound and an album full of mint-fresh compositions. Pota R Marudyan, as the new band calls itself, comprises the core trio of Pota, Ayan (formerly of Bangla rockers Abhilasha) on guitars and greenhorn violinist Nong. The project’s debut 10-song record, titled Shaada Aar Kaalo, will soon see a release from Big Music.
Working with original compositions and traditional folk music from Bengal (including Baul, bhawainyya and Rajbanshi tunes) and Assam, Marudyan strongly denies any genre-based categorisation that it feels limits the scope of its art. “Marudyan is more like a platform to showcase indigenous music and original work, bringing in friends and supporters to enrich the experience of creating this clutch of songs,” says Pota. Some of these friends include keyboard whiz Raja Narayan Deb, flautist Hamtu and Shubhayu on the esraj.
