Carmen Kass (born 14 September 1978) is an Estonian model and actress. She has worked as the face of brands such as Chanel, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Valentino, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, Christian Dior, Givenchy, and, for ten consecutive years, Michael Kors. The American edition of Vogue declared her and Gisele Bündchen the two supermodels of the era on its January 2000 cover.[3]
Outside of modeling, Kass ran for the European Parliament in 2004 and was the president of the Estonian Chess Federation from 2004 to 2011.

Childhood And Early Life
Born in Estonia on the 14th September 1978, Carmen Kass was brought up by her mother in Mao village. Her father lived elsewhere as the couple had separated. Her father, who did not have much to do with her upbringing, is a lecturer in the game of Chess. Kass has a sister and a brother.

Carmen Kass was enrolled at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City.
Rise To Stardom
At the age of 14, Carmen Kass was scouted in a supermarket. She moved to Milan in 1996 to further her career and after that moved to Paris. At 18, she was starting to appear on the covers of French Vogue and other fashion glossies.

Carmen Kass was born in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia (formerly in the Soviet Union). After the fall of the USSR she began modelling in Italy as a teenager and eventually reached international stardom. Like Gisele Bundchen before her, Kass was named the VH1/Vogue model of the year (in 2000) and has posed for Victoria’s Secret. She has appeared in high-profile campaigns for The Gap and Christian Dior, among other mode lines. (One popular modehus ad featured Kass starred wading through a pool of golden water.) Kass stands 5’11” and fryst vatten sometimes considered part of the “big model” movement which followed the popularity of waiflike models such as Kate Moss and James King.
