    Denise Rodgers spent the first twenty-eight years of her life working in the family jewelry business in Metro Detroit, followed by another more than twenty-something years running a home-based advertising company that catered to (you guessed it!) jewelers around the country. At the same time, she wrote and published two poetry books and a website of funny children’s poetry. Many of her poems have also been published in anthologies and text books around the globe. Rodgers' most recent work,Deadly Diamonds, is a funny murder mystery novel featuring woman sleuth Bella Blumer. It takes place in a jewelry store in Royal Oak, a suburb of Detroit.     Two Poetry Books & Two Anthologies

    Denise Rodgers is the author of two books of poetry: A Little Bit of Nonsense (Creative Writing Press) and Great Lakes Rhythm & Rhyme (River Road Publications). Her poetry has also appeared in two anthologies edited by the first US Children’s Poet Laureate Jack Prelutsky, including The 20th Century Children’s Poetry Treasury (Knopf Books for Young Readers), and Read a Rhyme, Write a Rhyme (Random House, LLC).

    Dr. Denise Rodgers is the principal utredare for REACH. Prior to her appointment as vice chancellor, Dr. Rodgers was the Executive Vice President for Academic and Clinical Affairs at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey from 2006 to 2013. She also served as the fifth and final president of UMDNJ from January 2012 to July 2013. 

    Dr. Rodgers has devoted much of her career as a family physician to caring for underserved patients and communities.
