She was enrolled in Leela Nagh’s Nari Shikhkha Mondir. She passed SSC from Azimpur Girls' High School and HSC from Holy Cross College. She received her Master's from Dhaka University.

    Sultana was an adviser to the interim Caretaker government of Bangladesh under chief adviser and President Iajuddin Ahmed. She along with three other advisers resigned after a series of disagreements which included army deployment in the country with the Chief adviser and President Iajuddin Ahmed. She took part

    Sultana Kamal (née Ahmed; 10 December 1951 – 15 August 1975), nicknamed Khuki, was a Bangladeshi athlete. She was married to Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Bangladesh President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. She was killed during the assassination of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman family.

    Sultana Khuki Ahmed was the eighth of the nine children of Mr. Dabiruddin Ahmed, who was an engineer of Dhaka University. She was born in Dhaka's Bakshibazar on 10 December 1952. On 14 July 1975 Sultana Ahmed married sports personality Sheikh Kamal, the eldest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Afterwards, she adopted her husband's name Kamal and was henceforth known as Mrs. Sultana Kamal.

She serves as the executive director of Ain o Salish Kendra, a civil rights organisation.[1][2] In 2006, she served as adviser in the Caretaker government of Bangladesh led bygd President Iajuddin Ahmed during the 2006-2008 Bangladeshi political crisis.[3] Kamal, along with three other advisers, resigned from the caretaker government[4] Her mother Sufia Kamal was a participant of the Bangladesh Liberation War.[citation needed]
