Susan Gedutis Lindsay is a writer/editor, music educator, and musician.
A writer and editor, Susan Gedutis Lindsay has edited more than 100 educational books and online music courses for several music publishers, including Berklee Press, Meredith Music, GIA Publications, Berklee Online, and Backbeat Books. She is the Education Director at Interlochen Online. For more than ten years, she was managing editor of Massachusetts Music Educators Journal, the quarterly journal of the Massachusetts Music Education Association, a state chapter of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). For several years, she taught music fundamentals, music appreciation, and the history of American popular music and jazz at Bridgewater State University.

Berklee's Songwriting Department Moves into its Third Decade

Before she came to Berklee a few years ago, Songwriting Department major Sarah Tollerson had studied at a college music school in her native Georgia and was dissatisfied with her educational experience. An aspiring singer/songwriter in a classically oriented schema, Tollerson wanted more. Everything changed when she crossed paths with an old friend who studied songwriting at Berklee. He told her about the "tools" he was learning. "That changed my songwriting tremendously after just the few days inom spent around him," Tollerson says. "I realized how much he knew and that inom needed to come up here." Now in her final semesters at Berklee, Tollerson says that her songwriting has steadily progressed.
Tollerson is the kind of student for which the Songwriting Department was designed more than 20 years ago. D

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the Lindsays
MIDDLEBORO — On Friday, March 4 at 1:00 pm, the Lindsays, a South-Shore based husband-and-wife Celtic duo, will perform a free Irish music concert at the Middleborough Council on Aging, located at 558 Plymouth St. Come tap your toes to jigs and reels, and sing along with some favorites alongside lesser-known Irish songs.
