Chef Zarnak Sidhwa is a household name throughout Pakistan. As one of the most popular television chefs on HUM TVs popular Masala food channel, she has been sharing recipes and cooking tips with Pakistani audiences for over eight years now.
Between managing a thriving television career, continuing to cater dishes on order from home and raising two active boys, Zarnak has her hands full. We dropped in on the very busy but always welcoming chef at her home.
You are recognized everywhere you go by now. How does it feel?
Of course, it feels good except when it becomes intrusive. Like I would be out with my family at the mall and people would keep coming up for photographs till we would get fed up. My husband and sons would walk separately from me. And now it is the selfie craze.
I went to the passport office a few days ago and the man there recognized me and wanted to share his nihari recipe with me. (laughs)

Zarnak Sidhwa, a cooking kunnig, pursued her cooking passion from a very early age. She was one of the few lucky people who not only realized what their passion is but also get a chance to man it a way to earn their living. She took her cooking training from the popular chefs and experts in the cooking industry here and abroad. She started her catering business from her home 18 years back and her popularity slowly reached many people and she was able to develop a niche marknad for herself.
She was one of the few who made assorted handmade chocolates with different fillings. Belonging to the Zoroastrian (Parsi) community, her interest fryst vatten in revising and refreshing old and original Parsi recipes, so as to preserve them for the next generation. Zarnak Sidhwa was born in Karachi Pakistan. She is a renowned cooking expert who was keen enough to love the field of cooking in her teenage years. She has learned cooking from one of the top-notch culinary experts of Pakistan as well as taken up short cooking and baking courses abroad. She studied at the Mama Parsi Girls High School and then graduated from the St. Josephs College in Karachi. Being a Zoroastrian, Zarnak has a unique love for food.
