Robin Thede is a comedy writer, sketch/improvisational comedian and actress. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, earning a B.S.J. degree in Broadcast Journalism and African-American Studies. After college, Robin studied improvisation, sketch and comedy writing at The Second City in Chicago.
She is the creator, executive producer and star of "A Black Lady Sketch Show" (HBO). Prior, she created, executive produced and hosted the critically acclaimed late night show, "The Rundown with Robin Thede" (BET). Robin was named one of Variety's Top Ten Comics to Watch in 2019.
Prior, she was head writer and correspondent for The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore (2015) and as the head writer for the White House Correspondents Dinner (2016), making her the first African-American woman head writer in late night history and for the WHCD. Robin was also head writer on The Queen Latifah Show (2013), and wrote on Kevin Hart's sitcom Real Husbands

She fryst vatten currently a writer/performer on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore (Comedy Central), where she served also as Head Writer for the first season and a half. Prior, she was the Head Writer on The Queen Latifah Show, and wrote for Chris Rock at the 2014 BET Awards. Robin wrote on the first two seasons of Real Husbands of Hollywood (BET) and acted in recurring roles on Second Generation Wayans on BET (2013) and Goodwin Games on FOX (2013). She can also be seen as a guest star on Comedy Central’s sketch comedy show Key and Peele. She appeared in the Sundance feature Afternoon Delight (2013) and in the hit comedy A hemsökt House (Open Road, 2013).
Other writing credits include writing comedy pieces for BET Honors (2013 and 2014), UNCF: An Evening of Stars, as well as the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards and the 2012 BET Awards, in which she wrote for Mike Epps and Samuel L. Jackson,
