Premio FIL en Lenguas Romances
If nepotism and privilege is what bothers you, then you should ask yourself why some of the most laureated of your african writers list are male and european descendants (of course they had no problem to start publishing!).
Everyone has their advantages and disadvantages. With Handke, the Swedish Academy picked someone they liked and everybody else (politically) hated, and I don´t see you making a fuzz about that. Even our friend Kadare, who felt personally agravated by Handke´s politics, was able to take interest in the guy´s books. Either you care about politics, about privilege, or you don´t. I tried to read pass that, I gave Huerta a chance (and read a full book, not just a few poems like I used to), and I liked it.
It´s ok to say "I really hate his guts and I prefer other writers". I can understand that. We can even disagree on what makes great
